What it does
Layt puts photos and video into a layout, and exports the result. That is all. 81 layouts, 9 aspect ratios, from square to vertical. Written for myself first, because every comparable app ends up hiding its basic features behind a subscription.
Ten seconds, not ten minutes
A layout, your media dropped into the cells, an export. There is no tutorial to follow.
Photos and video together
Cells take both. The export comes out as JPEG or MP4 depending on what you put in.
No watermark
No logo forced into a corner, no crippled free tier. The image that comes out is yours.
Where it stands
The status is said plainly, including when it is not flattering.
Installed on my phone and used regularly. A test build exists, it is not distributed.
It solves my problem. Whether it is also somebody else’s problem is the question, before turning it into a product.
A personal tool, and said as such. Nothing promised, nothing dated.
Questions
Can I try it?
Not yet. It is neither on the App Store nor in open testing.
Are my photos sent anywhere?
No, never. The app makes no network request at all. Everything is processed on the phone.
Why ask for photo access?
To read the ones you pick and save the result. Nothing else is read.
