Layt — Privacy Policy

Last updated : 28 October 2026

Layt is a photo and video collage app. This policy explains what data the app handles — in short: none leaves your iPhone, because Layt never connects to the internet.

1. Summary

No account, no signup, no login.
Layt makes zero network requests. It does not call any server, ours or anyone else's.
No advertising, no analytics, no crash reporting, no third-party SDKs of any kind.
Everything you do in the app — the photos and videos you select, the collages you build, your stickers, your settings — stays on your device, in the app's private sandbox.
We do not collect, see, or have access to any of your data. There is nothing for us to sell, share, or lose.

2. Permissions and what each one is for

Layt asks for the following permissions, each used strictly to let the app function locally :

Photos — read access : to let you pick the photos and videos you want to include in a collage.
Photos — add access : to save the finished collage (image or video) back to your photo library.
Face ID (or your passcode) : optional. Only used if you lock a folder of stickers or seal a collage. iOS does the check and tells Layt only whether it succeeded; Layt never sees or stores any biometric data.

Layt never opens the camera. iOS asks the app to declare a camera usage text because the photo picker library it relies on references the camera; the app itself never uses it.

3. Data stored on your device

To work, Layt keeps the following in its private sandbox on your iPhone, and nowhere else :

the collage you are working on, so you can resume it;
copies of the photos and videos you picked, including files you import from the Files app;
your saved stickers and sticker folders, and your settings;
a small diagnostic journal of recent actions, used only to understand a crash on your own device. It is never sent anywhere.

All image and video processing (layout, cropping, filters, background removal for stickers, export, format conversion) happens entirely on your device. Nothing is uploaded anywhere at any point. Uninstalling the app removes all data associated with it.

Locking a sticker folder with Face ID is an interface lock, not encryption: it protects against someone who is holding your unlocked phone, not against a full device backup. Your iPhone's own backup settings (for example iCloud Backup) decide whether app data is included in a backup.

4. What leaves the app, and only when you choose

When you save a collage to Photos or use the share sheet, the image or video goes where you send it. Layt does not see where that is, and does not keep a record of it.

5. Third parties

Layt does not integrate any third-party service — no advertising network, no analytics platform, no crash reporter, no backend. There is no data to share with third parties because none is collected in the first place. The iOS photo picker, Face ID and the share sheet are provided by Apple and governed by Apple's own policies.

6. Children's privacy

Layt is not directed at children under 13. Since the app collects no data from anyone, this applies equally to users of any age.

7. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this URL and the "Last updated" date above will be revised.
